THE FLYING DUCK PRESENTS...

CRU SERVERS / METEOR/RODEO / OTHERWORLD

Cru Servers music is perhaps best framed as what it would sound like if early life took its first steps out of the primordial gloop, dragged itself ashore, decided to make dance music and discovered they had a knack for it. It dangles precariously in the fault lines between discordantly melodic rhythm tracks, steadily paced chaos and swamp-soaked bass oddities. Laden with eerily familiar samples yet always in a world of its own.

Meteor/Rodeo is a new persona for a new type of performance. Based around a modular sequencing setup, Meteor/Rodeo is intended as a system for improvised electronic music, both as a solo project and a platform for collaboration. This is Joe Howe (Banana Oil) composer, performer and sound artist who has a knack of making pretty mind melting music.

Otherworld is Kay Logan, a multi-disciplinary artist, instrumentalist and sound engineer from Airdrie, now living in Glasgow. The preternatural stylistic sensibility Logan exhibits in all of her work isn’t limited to sound, either – she’s a prodigious visual artist with the kind of signature sartorial sensibility that could launch a thousand ships, or lookalikes. Logan’s Otherworld project is a musique concrete excursion likely to appeal to fans of Zoviet France or Coil.
