The Flying Duck and Freakender Present... Live from San Francisco garage, psych pop main man Kelley Stoltz is heading to Glasgow. Will he make it? Third time lucky!?
Kelley Stoltz stands alone. His eclectic and prolific output via legendary labels Sub Pop Records, Third Man Records and Castle Face Records has earned him undeniable support from press and fan alike –– the words cult-following were coupled for this very artist.
The talented and widely loved king of San Francisco’s psych-pop movement even holds the accolade of being a member of the revered Echo and The Bunnymen with whom he toured with for four years.
In 2015, Stoltz found a new sponsor in Castle Face Records, the label founded by John Dwyer of Thee Oh Sees. They released 'In Triangle Time', a set of songs that blended Stoltz's love of the music of the '60s and '80s, in early November 2015. That same year he collaborated with Sarah Bethe Nelson on her 'Fast Moving Clouds' album and also released an album of trippy acid freak-outs under the name 'Willie Weird called The Scuzzy Inputs Of....' in 2017 came 'Que Aura', an exploration of synth pop and space disco. He followed this up quickly with 'Natural Causes', the record eschewed most of the synths and '80s sounds in favour of a gently psychedelic feel reminiscent of his early work. Stoltz's latest album, 2019's 'My Regime' continued with the gentle psych pop feel but with some added emotional content.
