Prison Religion make music like nothing else out there. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, the duo of Warren Jones and Parker Black draw from industrial noise, hardcore punk, techno, and everything in between, discarding the tropes and clichés of these genres to create something genuinely new. Much in the way their music seems to boundlessly absorb influence from various forms regardless of style or convention, their music serves to directly observe, question and resist the world around us.
Their singular output had led them to releases on prestigious labels such as Halcyon Veil, and Lee Gamble’s UIQ label, and garnered attention from outlets such as Pitchfork, FACT, The Wire and Noisey.
Their live shows are intense, visceral, and cathartic, and we’re incredibly excited to be hosting them at the Flying Duck this September.
