Hot Wishes: Tongue Trap/dimanti vēnās/Erin Is Leaving

"To defy Glasgow’s descent into the Cold and Dark season, local bands Tongue Trap, dimanti vēnās and Erin is Leaving are coming together to create some heat at the The Flying Duck. Come down and get cosy on November 21!

Tongue Trap have been sending their heart-wrenching bedroom rock out to the world since forming at Girls Rock Edinburgh in 2015. After a summer busy with shows (inc. TRNSMT and Doune The Rabbit Hole), a slower autumn has seen the band write some new material. They’re excited to share these new tunes, which speak of bullies, flowers and bittersweet hopefulness.

dimanti vēnās formed in 2017 and their stirring sound sits at a crossroads between neofolk and jazz. Their Latvian and Russian lyrics explore a self-described ‘post-Soviet existential angst’, and are accompanied by guitar, violin and recently, trombone. They’ll also be bringing some new songs to the Flying Duck.

Australian musician Erin Watt will debut her solo project Erin is Leaving with the help of musical pals. Her sincere folk-pop explores female friendship, stagnancy and heartbreak through poignant melodies and a bit of cowbell.

Doors 7:30pm. £5. "
